Seven Letters is a daily word game: one hidden seven-letter word, six guesses to find it, and the same word for everyone playing that day. Every guess you type must be a real word from the game's list, and each one comes back coloured — green where a letter is already in the right place, gold where it belongs somewhere else, grey where it is not in the answer at all.

Seven letters is a longer board than most word games use, and that cuts both ways. A guess returns seven letters of information rather than five, so a well-chosen opener eliminates far more of the field; but the answers are drawn from a curated list of common words, so the ones that survive tend to look alike. Six guesses is the budget a simulated solver clears comfortably and a human clears with room to think.

An optional strict mode holds you to every clue you have uncovered, which is tighter than the hard mode most word games ship — it honours greys and the position half of a gold clue as well as confirmed greens. The puzzle resets at midnight Budapest time, your streak and statistics are kept per game, and past days stay playable in the archive without touching your daily streak.

How to play Seven Letters

Find the hidden seven-letter word in six guesses.

1. Green letters are correct and in the right place.
2. Gold letters occur elsewhere in the word.
3. Gray letters are not used again unless the answer contains another copy.
