About Word Relay – Daily Four-Letter Word Ladder

Word Relay gives you two four-letter words and asks you to bridge them. Change one position at a time, and make sure every word along the route is real.

The shortest possible route stays hidden while you play. You can explore without losing the day: backtracking removes the last step, restarting returns to the first word, and neither ends the puzzle.

Look for stepping stones that keep useful letters in place. Sometimes the quickest connection takes you away from the goal before bringing you back. The endpoints have a verified route of three to five moves, though there may be several equally short ways across. The daily leaderboard rewards fewer moves, while finishing by any valid route still counts as a win.

How to play Word Relay

Turn the start into the goal, changing exactly one letter each move.

1. Every step must be a real four-letter word.
2. Keep your live route to 12 moves or fewer. Backtrack or restart whenever you like.
3. Try to match the shortest route; its length stays hidden until you finish.
